Who Am I?

I’m Jeannette and I’m an English teacher in South Korea!

When I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2011, I decided that the “real world” is boring. So, I bought a ticket to Spain and have been working and traveling around the planet ever since! I’ve seen a ton of Spain, as well as many other countries. I love to simply pick up my trusty little backpack for a long weekend of traveling.

This blog started in 2009, the first time I ran off to Europe. I had nothing but a giant purple backpack (see where the site’s name came from?) and I planned to live out of it for 4 months!
When I lived in Spain, I worked through the Auxiliares de Conversación Program with the Spanish Ministerio de Educacion and was stationed in a small high school 40 minutes outside of Santiago de Compostela. I had plenty of time to explore Galicia, Spain, and Europe in general.
I’ve just started working in South Korea and will be here for the foreseeable future, practicing my terrible Korean and drinking soju  (or coffee).
